Planning to enjoy the fun at Wintersun this year?  After Wintersun, you can follow the crowd and head down to the Rockhampton area to play in some or all of the events in the Tropic of Capricorn Veterans Golf Carnival from Monday 19th August to Thursday 29th August 2019.

Wintersun’s last event is on Tuesday 13th August, so you will have plenty of time to travel down to Capricornia, perhaps even playing in the Black Springs Veterans Open on Friday before you head south.

The Carnival schedules individual games at 5 different golf courses – Rockhampton , North Rockhampton , Yeppoon (2 games), Emu Park (2 games) and the Capricorn Resort. As an added feature, players are awarded points for their results in each event that they play to award “Golfers/Players of the Carnival” both Gross and Nett in each grade/division.
Subject to any subsequent decisions of the Match Committees, there will be 3 divisions for Men players and 3 divisions for Women players. Divisions 1 & 2 (both men and women) will play single stroke (gross and nett events) and Divisions 3 will play single stableford. Players will stay in their starting division (based on their GA Handicap for their first game) for the “Golfer/Player of the Carnival” event, but divisions may vary from day to day for the individual single round events.
With over $16,000 worth of prizes, this Carnival is well worth considering following on from Wintersun.

The Frenchville Sports Club Carnival Dinner has also been arranged for Saturday 24th August with give-aways, live music and outstanding award presentations.
