Kevin Dalton and Helen Teys have won the 2019 Wintersun 72 Hole Championships determined after the final round of the Carnival played in Mackay.

The Wintersun Veteran Golfers Carnival is held annually at four different golf courses in and around Mackay over nine days, starting as always on the first Monday in August.
Planning is already under way to organise the 2020 Wintersun Carnival, provisionally scheduled for 3rd - 11th August 2020.

Monday 3rd August - Proserpine Golf Club
Live Music and Delicious Food from 4:30 to 7 pm - approx. $10 per head. If possible, please book on the day before your round.
Tuesday 4th August - Proserpine Golf Club
Presentation Lunch continuous from 12:30 pm - included in Proserpine Classic/Championship Entry Fee.
Thursday 6th August - Sarina Golf Club
Presentation Lunch after field finishes - included in Sarina Classic Entry Fee.
Friday 7th August - Pioneer Valley Golf Club
Lunch after field finishes or at half-time - included in Pioneer Valley Classic Entry Fee.
Tuesday 11th August - Mackay Golf Club
Carnival Presentation Dinner 7:00 for 7:30 pm - included in Mackay Classic/Championship Entry Fee.

Draws for each competition will be published for your convenience on this web site or on the host club's web site several days prior to the event.
MOTORISED BUGGIES: The organisers will arrange the hire of all motorised buggies where requested. Please note, however, that at some courses, the availability of buggies is limited, and early nomination with your buggy request is suggested. All available carts will be controlled by the local Veterans Club through your nomination, so please do not try to book carts directly with the Clubs.
TEE TIMES: Whilst the organisers will make every effort to allocate a special tee time requested for medical reasons, we cannot guarantee that your request can be met. At both Proserpine and Mackay, players will be drawn in the morning field for one round and in the afternoon field for the other round, unless otherwise decided by the Tournament Committee.

Four round Championships – the prestige event of the Wintersun Carnival - Provisional Information.
Rounds 1 & 2 at Proserpine on Monday & Tuesday 3rd & 4th August 2020 (field limit 220)
Rounds 3 & 4 at Mackay on Monday & Tuesday 10th & 11th August 2020 (field limit 230)
Men: Single Stroke – Women: Single Stableford – Tee times from 6:30 am
Gross (Men only) and Nett events in three grades.
Proserpine and Mackay are holding 36 hole and 18 hole events in conjunction with the Championships. Nomination for the Championships includes your entry in the 36 and 18 hole events.
Players may nominate for Proserpine or Mackay only – refer to the Proserpine and Mackay events for detailed information.
PROSERPINE 36 HOLE WINTERSUN CLASSIC
Rounds 1 & 2 – Monday & Tuesday 3rd & 4th August 2020
36 holes event; Morning and afternoon fields (2-tee start), morning field from 6:30 am.
Men: Single Stroke – Women: Single Stableford – Gross (Men only) and Nett events in three grades, with a Golden Years event in conjunction (Men – over 75 years, Women – over 70).
Round 1 and Round 2 18 hole nett events are held in conjunction with the 36 hole event. Nomination for the Championships or the 36 hole event includes your entry in the 18 hole events.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase during the day on Monday and Tuesday. A Presentation Luncheon on Tuesday (included in nomination) will be available continuously from 12:30 pm. An additional fee applies for non-playing guests at the luncheon.
Presentations for the 2 rounds will be held at Proserpine on Tuesday at the conclusion of the day’s competition.
MACKAY 36 HOLE WINTERSUN CLASSIC
Rounds 1 & 2 – Monday & Tuesday 10th & 11th August 2020
36 hole event; Morning and afternoon fields (2-tee start), morning field from 6:30 am.
Men: Single Stroke – Women: Single Stableford – Gross (Men only) and Nett events in three grades, with a Golden Years event in conjunction (Men – over 75 years, Women – over 70).
Round 1 and Round 2 18 hole nett events are held in conjunction with the 36 hole event. Nomination for the Championships or the 36 hole event includes your entry in the 18 hole events.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase during the day on Monday and Tuesday.
The Wintersun Presentation Dinner (included in nomination) will be held at Mackay Golf Club, 7:00 for 7:30 pm. Non-playing guests may attend for an additional fee. Presentations for the 2 rounds and the 72 hole Championships will be made at this function.
SARINA 18 HOLE WINTERSUN CLASSIC
Thursday 6th August 2020 – 18 hole event at Sarina Golf Club, approximately 25 minutes south of Mackay.
Morning field (2-tee start), from 7:30 am – Men & Women: Single Stableford.
A Trophy Presentation lunch will be held at the clubhouse after the field finishes (included in nomination).
A superb 16-hole moderately hilly layout – recommended that you book early if you require a motorised cart.
PIONEER VALLEY 18 HOLE WINTERSUN CLASSIC
Friday 7th August 2020 – 18 hole event at Pioneer Valley Golf Club, Mirani
approximately 40 minutes west of Mackay.
Morning field (2-tee start), from 8:00 am – Men & Women: Single Stableford.
A lunch (included in nomination) will be available after the round for early starters and at half time for later starters. Trophy Presentation will be held after the field finishes. An event not to be missed on this great par 72 18-hole layout.
You might like to play an advance round at Proserpine before Wintersun, and perhaps stay on for a few days to play another event or two - eg the Black Springs Veterans Open and/or the Pioneer Valley Veterans Open. Click the Club name to go to their web site.
